5 Invisalign Hacks You Need To Know

Posted on

If you are just getting started with Invisalign, there are a few hacks that you need to know. These hacks will help enhance your experience with Invisalign.

Hack #1: Bring Your Case Everywhere

Your Invisalign case should come with you wherever you go. You may want to get more than one case. Your case should be in your pocket or in your bag where you can quickly grab it. Whenever you take out your Invisalign aligners, you should place them in your case. This will help ensure that you don't put your Invisalign aligners in tissue and throw them away after eating.

Hack #2: Ditch the Gum

Second, it is time to ditch the gum. It isn't easy to chew gum while wearing your aligners. Instead, switch to breath mints and mouthwash. When it comes to breath mints, though, make sure you don't use any colored ones. The color can stain your aligners. They are a lot easier on your mouth and will not mess up your aligners.

Hack #3: Put Together An Emergency Dental Travel Kit

You are going to want to put together an emergency dental travel kit. Keep an emergency dental kit in your bag, in your car, and in your office. That way, you will always have the supplies you need to remove any food stuck in your teeth after eating before you put your aligner back on. Although you don't have to brush your teeth after every meal, it is a good idea to do so. Having a dental kit easily accessible will help ensure that you are always putting a clean aligner on clean teeth.

Hack #4: Soak Your Aligners

When you are eating at home, place your Invisalign aligners in a denture solution. The denture solution will make it easier to clean your aligner. You don't need to do this every time you are eating. However, soaking your aligner in a denture solution while eating breakfast or dinner well keep your aligner nice and clean.

Hack #5: Get a Nail File

Finally, you are going to want to get a nice nail file. Sometimes you will find that a new aligner has a few sharp spots on it. Those few sharp spots may not seem like that big of a deal, but they can easily cut up your tongue and your mouth. When you get a new aligner, feel over it, and if you find any sharp spots, file them down. This will make your liner more comfortable and will save you from unnecessary trips to your dentist.

These are just a few hacks that will help make wearing and using your Invisalign are a little easier on you. If you have other questions about using your Invisalign and fixing your teeth, and talking to your dentist. Your dentist will be able to help ensure you have a comfortable experience.
